Background

Rich Piech grew up in a unique environment, spending his early years in a junkyard owned by his father. This unconventional upbringing instilled in him a deep appreciation for systems thinking, as he learned to see the intricate connections between different components of complex systems.

Rich pursued a degree in electrical engineering and an MBA, which laid the foundation for his career in the semiconductor industry.

Over the years, he worked in various roles, from field service to management and sales, gaining invaluable experience in identifying and guiding organizations using proven structured methodologies to reduce cycle time getting to a desired future state / resolving issues so you can scale.

Career Highlights

Rich has done some amazing things in his career! He managed a $350 million deal in Singapore and has made over $1 billion in sales. He's worked in 20 countries and lived in six, leading a team of 55 people to install and improve equipment for a big project.

Rich has also co-written six papers about advanced technology and how to control defects. He worked with top companies like Applied Materials and helped them grow from $230 million to $14 billion.

Forget fancy degrees, my love for tinkering in junkyards sparked a passion for building efficient systems! :)

Intrigued by systems since my childhood days in my dad's junkyard, I turned that curiosity into a passion for building efficient processes. Combining an engineer's mind with an MBA's strategic thinking (picked up during my global career!), I witnessed the power of data-driven growth while scaling companies like Applied Materials.

Today, at S3 Consulting, I’m leveraging this experience and my love for exploring new cultures (20+ countries!) to empower businesses to achieve sustainable growth through innovative, scalable solutions. We're your growth architects, guiding you to a future state of optimized systems and predictable success.

By day, I'm a data-driven growth architect; by night, I'm a music-loving world explorer who fuels innovation, whips up global flavors, and dives deep (both literally and figuratively!) 🙂
